Teflon fabric suppliers?

Marionc032 | Posted in Equipment and Supplies on

Hi all, I’m thinking of getting a new, larger ironing board, specifically the Rowenta Professional which has an 18″ x 49″ board. The problem is, I’m having trouble finding one of those ironing board covers made of teflon fabric (they’re usually silver grey or blue) that’s large enough to fit the thing. I figured I’d just make one if I can find the teflon fabric but so far I’ve had no success. Does anyone out there know where I might find the stuff?? Oh, and they’d have to ship to Canada.

I saw some of this stuff at JoAnn fabrics, but now that I think about it, it may have been quilted, like potholders! Would that work for you?

Went to the JoAnn website, under Decorator fabrics, utility cloth they have Iron board cover on sale for $3.59.

Further research revealed that they don't ship internationally, do you know some one in the US who could be your buyer and mail it to you?

I bought some at Joann's fabric, and it was not quilted.

Check out their web site to see if they ship to Canada

I have seen this fabric at a couple different Fabriclands.  Don't ask the staff - they're usually clueless, unless you hit a good one.  Anytime I've seen it, it's in with the home dec stuff in the rolls in an obscure corner with the ticking and canvas, etc.  Hope you find some!

Thanks all for your help. I sure wish I did have a contact in the US through whom I could order stuff but the only American I know well enough to ask is my ex, and while I'm sure he'd do it for me, I'd rather not ask... kow what I mean?? LOL!I went into one of my local fabric shops here that carries a lot of home dec stuff, but they ddn't have any, however, one of the sales people promised to find a supplier. If that doesn't pan out, I will definitely be running down to Fabricland and keep my fingers crossed!I don't why the online fabric stores in Canada are so few and far between. It stinks! Thanks again,
      Marion

Yes, Nancy's Notions sells it, but it might be expensive. It is aluminum coating on a 100% cotton backing 45" wide and sells for $5.48 a yard. Is that Teflon?
