I had a rude awakening yesterday … I was pressing a shawl jacket I had made and noticed that the temporary basting tape I had used bled through the silk crepe de chine and showed on the seam allowance of the garment. I washed the garment, but it did not come out with hand washing. I’m going to try washing it with some other fabrics on gentle, hoping the slight agitation and friction of the other fabrics will help remove it. In the meantime, ladies, be aware … that tape does NOT come out easily!

You don't specify the brand, but an inquiry like this can always be addressed to the manufacturer. Most product websites have FAQ sections and/or contact information. Do let us know what you find out!
Thanks for the suggestion! I went to the Dritz website, there was nothing in the FAQs to answer the questions, so I did send an email. Will advise response. The temporary basting tape is Wonder Tape. I do love the way it works, but will not use it indescrimanently on any fabric.
