It took me longer than it should have but I just finished my first slipcover last week following the series of articles by Laurel Sprigg. It has a lot of mistakes, but I think it looks pretty and I’m enjoying the new look of my chair. I feel really good about it.
I want to thank the Gatherings discussion group for tips and confidence boosting posts I received, especially from Kate T and Mem. (Do you guys even remember? I believe I received those posts in April 2004). I think it’s very special that people will take the time to write two page posts to unsure novice sewers who are trying something new. I referred to your kind words and encouragement more than you’ll ever know.

my goodness what a surprise to see my name on the list!!!!! I do remember and i am so glad it worked out for you . My first attept at a slip cover is still sitting at the end of my bed and while it is a little worn has sorted of graduated into the Shabby Chic style of decorating with its faded linen !Its still very strong though .
Again, many many thanks. Your postings really helped!
