Threads magazine

Homesew | Posted in Teach Yourself To Sew on

Hello everyone and Happy New Year for 2013.

Can I say a big Thank you to Threads and Judith Neukam for her piece in the latest magazine.  I have returned to sewing after a break and was a little ambitious with my first project which would require an FBA adjustment.  This was not entirely successful as I increased both the lower cut (dart line) and also the under arm which resulted in a unsightly amount of extra material from the top bust to the shoulder seam.

I got around the problem by making the shoulder seam larger on the front side, but until March’s magazine dropped through the letter box, I could not tell you why.

I intend to start this year with easy projects working up to a dress with an FBA.

Thank you

Gloria

I am still trying to wade through "Pattern Drafting, It's Easy!" without falling asleep.  Hopefully, it will help others with their fitting issues.

I agree with what you are saying here but I think because I have tried it and failed the pictures showed me clearly the area I missed.
