I’m looking for the name of the book which was the subject of an article in the Dec. 99/Jan. 00 Threads Magazine. The price of the book was $60.00 and the subject was fashion details thoughout history. I loaned my copy to a friend before I wrote the title down. I’m planning on giving the book to my Mom for the holidays.

Janet; I thing the book you are looking for is FASION IN DETAIL FROM THE 17TH AND 18TH CENTURES by Avril Hart and Susan North. Rizzole International Publications, 300 Park Ave. S., New York, NY 10010; 1998; $60. hardcover; 224 pp. This book is reviewed on page 82 in the Dec/Jan 2000 Threads magazine (the current one). *Hi to you both,I've seen the book you're talking about and it's beautiful. There's also a companion book called "Modern Fashion in Detail" which was reviewed by Threads a few years back. It's also a gorgeous book, though cheaper since it is now available in softcover. The only (slight) problem with them both is that there is only a small diagram of the garment for each detail pictured. I've attached a scan of the cover; take a look.
