To Lizabeth about lining her bias skirt

fashiongirl | Posted in General Discussion on

Lizabeth:

The best option is a half slip – even if you make a silk one.  If you choose a bias lining, you must make sure it hangs evenly to fit the skirt.  Choose a silk half slip in a matching color and save yourself the time of lining it.

Cutting a lining in bias can cause problems as it can stretch differently than the skirt and end up showing. I made a jacket and lined the sleeves on the bias as was suggested in a tailoring book. I let it hang and had to cut off quite a bit of the hem, and it is still lengthed.
