Hi all,
Does anyone know of a pattern or can anyone tell me how to make and sew that cotton topper on a tea towel so you can tie the towel to handles? I don’t know if there is an actual name for this thing or not. Sometimes you see a tea towel with a knitted top and you can fasten the knitted part to a handle of a stove but I want to top the towels with other fabric (cotton) and use spaghetti straps for tieing. I hope this makes sense. I have one that I bought but I can’t really figure out how they put it together since they folded the towel under the topper. I can post a picture of this thing if that will help. Thanks
Blingy

Do you mean those triangular, double-faced "yokes" at the top of a pleated towel? Like a little lined apron with the towel hanging from the hem?
A photo would help, but I think I could figure out how my mother used to make those.
I have come across many of these on the internet but didn't make note of the source. Why not Google towel topper or some such phrase?
I happened to be looking through a book I had from America Sews with Sue Hausman from 2004 and saw the instructions for the towels and thought of your post. There is a pattern and instructions in it and it is also at this website http://usaapp.husqvarnaviking.com/education/pdf/kleverKitchenTowels.pdf Take a look and see if this is what you are looking for.
Yes this is it! Thank you!
You are welcome.
