This is a fashion that is back in style in a real big way these days. This is another Bishop Method torn project from mother’s Twenty Changes in a Hatbox book. Enjoy!

This sounds like it would make a great dance skirt. The title says "Dress", though, but I saw no instructions for a bodice or the lovely wrap shown in the illustration. Are those instructions available, or is this meant to be a skirt to attach to any bodice one might choose?Thank you so much for sharing these torn projects. I love seeing the illustrations - so feminine.
Chuckling to myself as I read these posts. Man, I have really got to be on my toes for this crowd! Y'all are some SHARP stitchers!
I see what you mean. Let me cogitate on the top a little. I'm leaving on vacation tomorrow and will get back to you upon my return. I'm pretty sure I know what mom did on the top, but I'm going to play origami while I'm gone and will get back with the best answer I can.
You've been so generous to scan these instructions for us, and I must sound very ungrateful and demanding - I apologize. I found the illustration of the dress and shawl so appealing, I wondered if maybe there was a second page. Hope you have a wonderful vacation.
what do you mean by "torn"?
