trying again

rjf | Posted in Photo Gallery on

This is a strip of 8 overshot samples for a friendship sampler.  Eight weavers got together and chose two patterns each to weave and the color they wanted their samples to be.  We gave the other weavers the color we liked so I wove eight different colors in the same pattern and then did eight more with different treadling.  After the picture, I cut the samples apart to distribute to their owners.  By next fall, we hope to have our samplers put together.  Stayed tuned for picture!     rjf

Wonderful!  Your selvages are so neat, too.

The overshot patterns are really interesting to look at in person--slightly hard to see all the cool detail in the photo. RJF, can you do one closer-up view of one of the squares?

I can tell from the picture that there were still some grandchildren around when it was taken. Incidentally, we have a small red Velcro ball in the back seat of our car. I know it came from your house, but can't remember what it's for. Will return it soon!

Wow! I just went thru the log-in procedure about 3 times before I was recognized as on official member.  Anyone else having that trouble?

Anyway, there is a close-up picture attached to message 2065.1 in this same discussion.  What I should take a picture of are the handwoven shoelaces I did for Nick. But I need to finish the ends so they are official shoelaces first.        rjf

I discovered what caused the log-in problem.  One of the houseguests deleted all the cookies.                                                       rjf

Withhold shoelaces until cookies are reinstalled!! Really--don't let anyone on your computer anymore. The nerve! But I would love to see those shoelaces. Were they hard to make? I know someone else who needs new laces--the ones that come with his new sneakers are just marginally too short, and he's just learning to tie his shoes, so they are causing trouble.

How long do they need to be?  What 3 colors?    rjf

I'll have to measure them. He'd probably like some green, maybe with gold/yellow and dark grey? Very designer! It's for a pair of sneakers with about 6 sets of eyelets, I don't know how long they need to be for that...

            How exciting!
