I have a 12 year old Janome sewing machine although hardly used it got damaged when we immigrated to Nigeria. Since there isnt really much to do over here I’ve decided to take sewing up as my main pass time. Im totally clueless when it comes to sewing machines and even though Im a beginner as far as sewing goes I’d like to buy a quality sewing machine thats technologically up to date. Please adivse me on my options.
Thank you.

Just about any machine you buy from a dealer will be a good one if it does all you want it to. I don't know who sells what where you are, but the machines sold at discount stores are not always the best quality. You get what you pay for.
stillsuesew is very correct in her reply. i'm unaware of what is what in Nigeria, but wonder if you can explore by putting out feelers to other sewists. Is there an extension program at a school? Library? Could local officialdome be of any help? What about that company or organization that took you there?
Any chance the moving company can contribute something to replace the damaged Janome?

hi, please read my article, under creative machine, "my old Kenmore metal machine" which was supposed to have stretch stitch in that model.--and never had it built in, by Kenmore. BUYER BEWARE.
