Underlining question

Hansi | Posted in General Discussion on

I accidentally cut the underlining for the upper sleeve (it’s a 2 piece sleeve with an upper and an under piece) of a jacket I’m making about 3″ too short.  There will be a faced cuff at one end of the sleeve.  The underlining is cotton flannel.  The fashion fabric is wool.  If I leave it as is, the sleeve will have a large underlined section, a section that is not underlined and then a faced cuff.

My question is, do I have to recut and mark a whole new underlining or will it be okay to baste in as is?  I can do it, have the flannel etc.  I just don’t wanna if I can get away with not doing it.

Thanks and Happy New Year!

You can do it, but I think you'd be happier if you did it right and recut it.  You will never be sorry you did it right.  You may be sorry if you don't.
