I am thinking of purchasing a steam geneartor and vacuum suction ironing board and wonder if there are any first-person accounts out there to share. I have seen the Euro-Pro and the Bernina set up and wonder what the fine points would be in making a decision. I’m tired of whimpy irons and ironing boards. Help me w/ your insight. I quilt/piece and sew garments.

I have a Euro Pro iron and suction board. The iron is great but the board is too small. The suction is wonderful for tailoring or any work with wool, but the size of the board is a real drawback. You can get an extension, but it will still be smaller than a regular ironing board.

*I have a Prince ironing system made in Italy by Stem. I just purchased it this summer and have been quite pleased with it. One of the things that I liked about it is the iron and boiler are a seperate unit that can be carried and used away from the vacuum board. The board itself seems to be a good size, has 2 speeds of suction, adjustable height and flips down for more compact storage.
