Hi I work for a costume shop in Daytona Beach and this coming season is loaded with all types of velvet and velveteen fabrics. I supervise a group of stitchers and need to make a large pressing board to accomodate long robes . I remember reading about using mohair .Does any one have any other ideas or tips ? Thanks for your help.

I have had success in using the velvet it self for pressing but just remember that a lot of pressure will still leave inpressions on the garment even with the right tools. Perhaps what will help you is a refresher course for your sewers about the proper way to steam the garment to get the look right.
