I have a “gently used” 5 year old Viking 1+ which I love… BUT.. I am learning to do the digitizing and am drooling over the larger hoops with the Designer 1. Any Designer 1 owners who want to help convince me I need one! Also, if I decide to upgrade, how much should I ask/could I get for my 1+ (this will be a big deciding factor!!) Thanks so much!

I am a fairly new user of my Viking 415 and am trying to make a square block of sheer material which has to be appliqued with a satin stitch to the dress fabric. I am using the heaviest tear away stabilizer I can find, but when I turn the corners, the thread just builds up and the material just does not flow under the presser foot. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. I have even tried using my walking foot and that does not help. Cynret
You need it! :)
I love mine. It's so easy to do larger embroideries. My friend has a Pfaff with only a 4x4, and she's truly envious of the Mega Hoop. I couldn't do the stuff I do (Irish stepdancing solo costumes) without it.
There's been a lot of improvements on the Viking line. Try them at your dealer's, you'll love it.
I've no idea what the current tradein is for the #1s. I'd say try looking through rummageads or some such and see what they're being sold for at the moment...
