In 1969 when my daughter was just a year old there was a one piece top with straps that criss-crossed in the back and buttoned at the shoulder. Little bloomer type pants finished off the outfit. The size range was from maybe a one to three years
Does anyone out there recall the pattern AND better yet, does anyone have one that I could buy? We have two little grand-daughters that would look cute in this outfit.
We are experiencing our first summer in southwestern New Mexico. Early mornings are the best time to be outdoors which frees up the rest of the day to sew or knit. What a bonus.

Mccalls and Simplicity also have similar patterns I have made for my daughter.
Hi---sorry it has taken me so long to get back to you. I made the sunsuit from the pattern you suggested. Very cute but not the one I was looking for. I started searching through my fabric stashes and came across fabric that I had originally used for one of the old sunsuits (what a surprise to find it) that had the outline of the pattern on the fold which gave me the shape I needed. Then I used the neckline from the pattern you suggested and was able to draft in the straps. I made one right away---with no instructions I put the buttonholes on the back straps instead of the front. I went back to the photo albums and found two pictures of Amy in this sunsuit and realized the buttonholes needed to go on the front. I am ready to make another one.
So, thank you for pointing me in the right direction. I have been on a marathon sewing binge. In the last three weeks I have made a crib quilt that I tied, a doll quilt to go with it that I machine quilted, two full length sleeveless cotton nightgowns for me, two sunsuit sets and one sheath dress for me with one more cut out and ready to sew today.
CallieH- Try The Children's Corner patterns available at boutique type sewing stores. They have several vintage looking children's patterns and are enjoyable to make up. I've recently made the Lily dress which looks just like the Lily Pulitzer dresses from the sixties. good Luck
Meant to post sooner, but. . . Children's Corner and other "vintage" style patterns are available at http://www.handmades.com. There are half a dozen different sunsuit variations. I'd also look at Karimeaway patterns, which has a really cute sunsuit with an appliqued puppy.
