Vogue 1218, help to find wired ribbon

I am making Vogue 1218. it calls for wired ribbon to support the top of the dress and around the neckiline to support it and create box pleats. In the instructions it appears to be a single wire sandwiched into the centre of a tape. I would like this to be washable. Does anyone know where I can buy it, preferably in the UK, but not essential.

make your own with pipping method
have a feeling you need to make your own if you dont want wires.
