I’m in the middle of making a Vogue Anne Klein jacket when I became curious whether all the designer patterns use the usual Vogue measurements or whether each are somehow different reflecting the way the designers clothes fit in the store.

I"m sure that others have replied, but to answer your question, each pattern company uses the same blocks (slopers) to draft patterns---all current Vogue patterns (with the exception of Sandra Betzina's Today's Fit) are drafted from the same block. That doesn't mean that each pattern in a size 12 fits the same--- the amount of ease is determined by the designer.

on this same line of thought, were the vogue retro patterns re-drafted to todays measurment standards? or are they the same as they were in their heyday?

Vintage Vogue are modern sizes. (Good thing, I could never squash my midsection into a 50's style dress.)
