want to see the finished garments

fabricholic | Posted in Fabric and Trim on

O.k. ladies. Now we know that you have plenty of garments to show off. How about putting some pictures in Gatherings Discussions to give us,” not so fast seamstresses”, some inspiration.

I second that suggestion!  I love to look at others' work, too!  And can I add something else to the wish list?  it would be really nice if people filled out their profiles so that you could at least tell what countries they live in.

JT,I went to see if my profile was filled out and I couldn't find anything on it about where I lived. I clicked on the update profile in the right hand side of the screen. Is that where you check it?Marcy

The informative PROFILE is part of MY FORUMS.  You need to click MY FORUMS first.  I wish they would not use the same name for two very different things!

        Hi Fabricholic!

Yep, it's in My Forums at the top of the screen (sort of next to Update Profile), then scroll down and to My Info (on the right).  Then to My Profile.

Thank you Becky-Book for starting a thread on that one, too!

          Hi,
I am really trying to add a profile. I filled out everything and now it says I have an error in my input, but it doesn't say what it is.Marcy

          1. jatman | | #6

Yikes!  I don't know what that means.  Maybe that's why a lot of people don't have them filled out.  I don't think they make you fill in every blank spot - I think you can just fill out what you'd like, so that shouldn't be it.  Do you have something weird like a number in a field that shouldn't have numbers, like the city or something?  That's my only thought as to why you'd get an error like that.

Hi again. I just checked it again and it went through without me even hitting submit, again. Weird, hun?Marcy

          4. jatman | | #9

That's good.  But if I click on your name, your profile comes up blank.  Maybe it takes a while for it to show up.

That is so weird. I checked it and it didn't have the main info., but had my favorites listed. I did the main info., again. Now, I can't get to it, either.

The main info seems to be there now - you're from AL!  Hi!  Nice to meet you.  I'm originally from Michigan!

            Hi,
I had some cousins that live in Saginaw. How did you come to live in Sweden?

Hi JT,I had to right click on my name and open it up in another window. Nobody is going to do that. Also, when I go in there, My Forum is red and that other listing is red, but My Profile is blue and I can't click on it.Marcy

          12. jatman | | #14

How strange.  I can click on your stuff and it comes up as normal.

I lived about an hour from Saginaw!  My husband took a temporary assignment with his job.  We'll be here about another year and a half.  It's wonderful - I love it.

I just realized that I have never been to AL.  I've spent a lot of time in the south but somehow never went to Alabama.

Well, thank you for filling out your profile!  Now hopefully people with start posting some pics.  I've posted a bunch of pics in the last couple of months mostly because I love looking at other people's work and I only hope people like to look at mine!

As often and as long as I've used this board, I have never figured out how to post a photo OR fill in a profile...and I'm fairly computer literate! Any tips would be appreciated.

    1. fabricholic | | #21

Hi Teaf5,For the profile part, go to My Forums, which is in blue, almost in the center of the page. Then, click on My Profile, which will be down on the left side of the page, and fill in the blanks. When you want to see someone's profile, just click on their name. I have never uploaded a picture in here, but Becky said you add an attachment and follow the directions. If I ever get my blouse finished, I will try it. Good luck. If this doesn't work, just keep asking. I'm sure someone will know how.Marcy

Hi Fabricholic (I just love your name!), I'm so disappointed that your post hasn't prompted people to post more pictures.  I've been getting my fix by going to Pattern Review and looking through their gallery.

    1. fabricholic | | #23

      Hi JT,
Me too. I look at their review gallery, but I know our guys here, are making beautiful garments and we may never get to see them. If I ever get my blouse finished, I'll put a pic in the photo gallery.Marcy

      1. jatman | | #24

Please do!  I'm not working on anything...yet - but once I get then next thing finished (whatever it may end up being!), I'll do the same!
