Okay all, I have questions my soon to be daughter-in-law is putting crystals on the straps of her gown. She was wondering if there was anyway she could put them on elastic thread, cord, or whatever and then not have to sew on one by one. I told her I didn’t think so . I said if we could find something strong enough but if she sews them on something and jsut attaches the cord or elastic one she trie it on or wears it one one starts to come off they all will. Any suggesstion will be helpful

She can glue them on with hot fix crystals if she doesn't want to sew them on

They stay on very well, are very secure and look very nice too

Thank you. I looked at Joanns for them. They had clearanced them out. I will keep checking. Have not been able to find them.
yes she can thread them onto a strong thread (clear monofilament or the thin stretchy kind used in crafts and jewelry). then she can whip stitche them along the strap easily.
Thanks for the info. We might try that. I wonder if you could do that.
Nancy's Notions and Hancock Fabrics sell the hot fix wand and crystals. They would have to be those kind of crystals, I believe, to have the glue already on the crystal.

We already have the crystls. I was under the understanding that it would work with any crystals. YOu don't think so is that right.
Kayrosie,
Both fabricholic and heartfire have given excellent suggestion for your 'no sew' method.
The hotfix wand comes with different sized nozzles for different sized crystals. The hoftix crystals have a film (glue) on the underside which when applied with the wand, permanently sticks crystal to fabric.
Crystals without the film (glue) on the back may be used with the hotfix wand:
you need to place crystal in the hotfix nozzle.
put glue on to the underside of crystal using a glue stick using a hot glue gun for application.
Then place on fabric using hotfix wand.
If using HotFix Crystals: The heat produced through the hotfix wand warms the glue on the underside of the crystal giving permanent stick.
If using Crystals you have pre-glued yourself, the hotfix wand works the same.

Thanks, Cherrypops. I didn't know you could do that with any crystals. That's good to know.Marcy
I haven't used the crystals that you would have to put glue on yourself, but CherryPops has, so I would look at her post. I would make sure the glue is clear and not white.Marcy
