I came across this mock welt pocket technique while looking through my old patterns. Diagonal welt pockets can be a really nice feature in a pair of slacks or skirt and this is way to get around the usual method of making one. I know I made these pants 20 years ago, they are by Carol Horn, remember that name? I was happy to be reminded of the pocket method and thought I would share it with my fellow sewers here in case you have forgotten too.

Elisabeth - All that got posted was a picture. Are there any instructions that go with it the picture?
Ginna
The picture is from the pattern instructions and yes there are the step by step instructions there. I picked the one drawing that might show what it is all about, an in the seam "welt" pocket. Wasn't there was an article in Threads recently that talked about making in the seam pockets on jackets? Creating a seam in the pants for the pocket instead of doing the usual welt sewing and cutting just strikes me as one of those clever tricks that one would think would be obvious but is not really. I didn't want to post the whole thing here in case of copyright or something but if you are interested I would be glad to e mail you a scan of the entire pocket making instructions.
