Hello, does any one know what kind of fabric the green empire dress Cher wears at the mall in the movie Clueless is made out of? I really like how the fabric drapes on Cher’s body and creates some folds. I’ll attach some photos, but they are from far away and not really good quality. If any one has any idea, pls comment!

This looks to me like a finely woven light to mediumweight cotton or fine rayon. It has been either underlined or lined, which gives it substance and no seam or hem show-through. I don't pay much attention to synthetics, but It could also be some sort of polyester. That might account for zero wrinkles in the photos.
It seems linen fabrics. actually visually anyone can guess about the fabrics. by testing chemically surly can give correct answer
Hey there! While it's a bit challenging to accurately identify the fabric from the distant photos, Cher's green empire dress in Clueless appears to be made from a lightweight and flowy material that allows for graceful draping and folds. Given the fashion of the time, it could potentially be a blend of rayon or a similar synthetic material. To get a better idea, you might want to check out some close-up shots or behind-the-scenes content if available at https://www.pikashow8k.com/
