What sewing machine should I buy?

frumpyfairy | Posted in Equipment and Supplies on

I am in the market for a new sewing machine. I am not a very good sewer but I have kids who want the basics. Capes, costumes…ets. i like to make pillows as well. So I am looking for a machine that is for beginners; one that is easy to use and the tension is right and the bobbin won’t get messed up! Does this machine exist? If so what should I buy and how much?

I am also looking for a new machine,  I have learnt the hard way that you really do get what you pay for.    look for a Euro-pro, they give you a lot of extras (ie feet) so that when you are sewing in the middle of the night and you need to gather or rollhem you have the right feet.  I have made a lot of late night things.    There are a few Euro- pros and JCPEnney's have them in their Catalog. also they are sold on the net.    MY Aunt is a sewing -pro and she loves her.  this is just one of the Machines I will be gettting.  It does a great Job on every thing especially heavy stuff.  and I like to sew on canvas & denim for decorative things and costumes.   My Aunt say it will sew anything very well.

    Good luck
