What to do with wool boucle?

nmog | Posted in Fabric and Trim on

I’ve got 3+ meters of some great light wool boucle (or textured wool since you can see through the fabric), but I don’t know what to do with it. I’ve just finished a suit and another jacket, but since I’m a stay-at-home mom I don’t really need any more. I was going to make a top with it (Burda 8711) until I read that you need a knit for it.

Any ideas? You ladies are so creative!
Thank you.
Nicole

Is it suitable for a wrap? Maybe even two? Is a wrap something you'd use?

How about a tunic, wear a camisole the same colour as your trousers.  Bali patterns have a simple v- neck tunic that would showcase the fabric.  Maybe a little trapunto on one shoulder if you are inclined to that sort of thing.

why dont you have a look at the article in Threads about Chanel jackets . They look sensatioal with Jeans aand a sweater or dolled up with a silk blouse . You can have so much fun with making your own braid etc. There is a great new pattern put out by Claire Schaeffer which will give you really good instructions.

Will you please tell us what the pattern is? I'm one of her fans, and just love reading the directions that accompanies her patterns.

its Vogue 8259 .The jacket instructions are really good for dealing with a loose woven fabric.

I thought it was this one. I do have this in my stash and am eyeing a black french boucle I purchased several years ago.
