Can anyone recommend a wheeled cart for taking a sewing machine to a workshop? I think I’d prefer one that you put the machine in from the top (unless someone can tell me why the other is better <g>). I don’t think it’s going to see heavy use, so I don’t want to spend a fortune (I have no idea how much they run).
Thx!

Take a look at http://www.canvascollectibles.com and http://www.tutto.com. I saw both at a recent sewing show, and they look good. If you're planning to use these for air travel, check to see how much cushioning is present. If you're just going to drive, then you won't need quite so much padding. The one I saw from Tutto was interesting because it collapses to about 3 inches thick when not in use, so it's easy to store.

Might want to check out wheeled ice chests in camping supply
stores, Walmart and similar sorts of places. I know
both Coleman and Rubbermaid make them in various sizes,
and I've heard of several people using them as sewing
machine carriers.
e.g.: http://www.aboveroute.com/cgi-bin/s/s_click_through.pl?m_id=2&to_url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.rei.com%2Fonline%2Fstore%2FProductDisplay%3FcatalogId%3D40000008000%26langId%3D-1%26storeId%3D8000%26productId%3D9798885
Hey, that's a good idea!

Quick! Send it in as a tip! Get real money.
if you join (for free) the fabricsandnotions co-op at yahoo.com (click on groups and do a search for fabricsandnotions), they frequently sell the hemline brand of wheeled sewing cases for about $35. it's about twice that at joann's, even on sale. the co-op also sells yli thread and many other sewing notions at wholesale + 5%. i've been very pleased with their prices and service. i bought one of the hemline cases last year and love it-it has a retractable handle and is, i think, a quality product.
Nancy's notions also sells the carriers for sewing machines too. http://www.nancysnotions.com you may want to try them too.
