Where can I find children’s clothing …

Tanusa_ | Posted in Patterns on

Hello… I just bought “Children’s Clothing: Designing, Selecting Fabrics, Patternmaking, Sewing” by Selma Rosen. The book refers to a separate package called,
“Master Patterns for Children’s Clothing,” which contains basic slopers for children’s patternmaking. I called Fairchild Books to see how I could purchase this, but
they told me it’s no longer in print and has not been available for years. The book is not as useful without the slopers (and I paid $40 for the book! — ouch!). Does
anyone have any idea where I could find a used package? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Dear Tanusa,

I have just the sloper package you are looking for I bought them at the F.I.T. bookstore along with the book you mention by Prof. Rosen.. I paid $17.50 for it back in 1991, I`ll let you have it for $15.00 plus shipping or If you have something you might like to barter, we could discuss that.
A better childrenswear design book is "Childrenswear Design " by Profs. Hilde Jaffe and Rosa Rosa. This book has a great deal of measurements and charts for all size children, boys and girls. The publisher is Fairchild Publications and the ordering information is SBN:87005-706-5.Also, I know of a really good pattern grading book, if your interested.

*Dear Janice, Thank you for your message! I would love to buy the sloper package from you. What form of payment would you like, where should I send it, etc? You can email me directly if you prefer. My address is [email protected]. Also, I bought "Childrenswear Design" the same time I bought the Rosen book. I agree it's better!I look forward to hearing from you.Best regards,Rachel El-Yafi (aka "Tanusa")

*Hi. I also made the mistake of buying that Rosen book then couldn't get teh slopers. what is the grading book you recommend? I have one by Gerry Cooklin that made me dizzy for a couple of weeks, but noqw that I have the hang of it, I like it. Thanks.
