I am looking for the Threads article that used the Great Copy Pattern 1005 (Funnel Collar Serger Coat. I made the coat but can’t remember the changes that were made and now I can’t find it. The coat in yellow double faced fleece was featured on the cover. HELP!!

I went looking for the issue of Threads with a yellow coat on the front. I couldn't find it among my issues, which only go back to issue #99. But I remember an article with a yellow coat in it - was it the one that showed a lot of top-stitching around the neckline and down the back? I think it was yellow, but was made with wool melton? It wasn't on the cover, though.
I feel really silly, I was so sure it was in Threads so I didn't check my other stashes.... It was a Clotilde publication which I found when I looked in the other boxes, I suppose there might be such a thing as to much stuff :). Anyway thanks for looking I do appreciate it. In the general perversity of the universe my serger decided to fail when I started working out the settings, Went to take it to the shop where I had bought it; out of business. I got lots of patience exercise Wednesday. Today I get to find out what it will take to have a usable serger.
Uh-oh. It does sound like you're not supposed to be sewing right now! Glad you found the article, though.
Happy days, The "service Man" said "There is nothing wrong with your serger! I just doesn't sew this thread!" Reclaim serger from incompetent repair man. Remember I made this coat with this thread and fabric a year ago... there is something wrong here. I have been looking for a reasonable excuse to buy a machine from a sewing store that offers amazing sewing classes to people that buy the machine from them and my birthday is coming up, (can you see where this is going?) I bought a Babylock Imagine for my 51st! My coat is begun (grin)
That's great news. Now, go out and create! Have fun.
The fun has begun!
I want to see pictures when you are through.
I'll try to get those taken.
Congratulations, birthday and present! How did you keep a straight face with the service man? How did he, for that matter?
Which one the incompetent or the one with a sale when I walked in the door? The first it was all business only business, thank you very much good bye. The second seemed rather amazed. I guess most people take longer to decide than I apparently did but I had been looking for 3 years I just needed an excuse. It really is alot of fun. I made a silk double layer wrap skirt for one of my daughters last night (ran out of thread for the coat) and it was fine going from fleeced/ultra suede (double sided) to silk chiffon.
Heh-heh. I meant the one who said there was nothing wrong with your serger, except it wouldn't work with that thread. But I see what you mean, I guess the salesperson who thought you were an easy sale would've been surprised too. Enjoy your new machine - it sounds like you already are. Lucky daughter - that sounds like a pretty skirt.
