Win tickets to Original Sewing Expos
Dear Gatherings members,
Threads is pleased to offer our Gatherings members the chance to win tickets to attend the Original Sewing & Quilt Expo, at any one of its four autumn venues (Chantilly, VA, Oct. 3-5; Raleigh, NC, Oct. 10-12; Chicago, IL, Oct. 17-19; and Minneapolis, MN, Nov. 14-16). We’ve got 74 free admission passes, and 20 tickets good for a free class session. We’ll distribute the tickets and passes, in two separate drawings, to winners randomly chosen from entries submitted to us via email. We hope our winners will take the opportunity to view the garments created for Threads‘ design challenges at the shows. Design Challenge VI will be shown at Chantilly, Chicago, and Raleigh; this year’s Challenge, VII, will debut in Minneapolis.
All we ask you to do is share your enthusiasm for sewing with us by writing 25 words (or less) about why you sew, what sewing means to you, or your favorite type of sewing. Send your message to us, at [email protected], using the subject heading “Why I Sew: admission” or “Why I sew: class,” to identify which drawing you’d like to enter. Please be sure to include your name, mailing address, email address, and telephone number, so we can contact you.

Tickets still available for the Chicago area and Minneapolis area show!!
We've sent out tickets to winners for the first two of the shows (Chantilly and Raleigh), but have saved some for those of you interested in attending in the Chicago or Minneapolis areas. Please read the instructions posted above, and let us know why you sew!
We hope to see you at one of the show venues.

I am interested in attending the sewing expo in Chicago and I did answer the questions asked a while back...I have not heard anything since. How will I know if I was lucky enough to get tickets???

Good question! We haven't been notifying those whose names weren't chosen, only the winners of tickets, and then have been sending tickets off to them. Anyone who hasn't heard from us has not, I'm sorry to say, won a ticket. But I hope those of you who haven't received free passes will go to the expo anyway--there's nothing like spending a day (or two or three) in the company of other sewers!
