working with faux lamp

Bernie1 | Posted in Fabric and Trim on

I’m looking for tips on working with faux lamb. DH bought me some yardage from a NY source and it’s very nice stuff, but it’s not exactly like faux fur in that it doesn’t have a thick nap or fluff problem. I’m wondering what type of pattern I should look for, how I should figure the seam allowances (because a thicker fabric does take up more inside room) and how to line it. I’m looking at a mid-length coat or shorter jacket. Also, how do you pretreat this stuff? Thanks.

Way to go DH! Is your fabric inside finished so you can use a lapped seam; that would reduce bulk and add a designer note. Galey
