      Anna-maree - CherryPops Australia,

Thank you so much for all your help. I really appreciate it. Oh yeah, you're from Australia? I have a girlfirend there, she was going to get married and I asked her what color her dress going to be, and she said "broken white". Do you know what kind of color "broken white" is? Is it ivory?

      Thanks again :)

Hey Momma;I just voted for your beautiful little dress (from all of my email addresses lol) and read your essay. You had mentioned that you were thinking of maybe opening a storefront?? When I was on vacation a couple of years back, I walked into the cutest little children's clothing store where all of the clothing was hand made. I mention this because the way this lady had her shop arranged was absolute genius. There was all of the regular clothing racks, but at the back of the store was a huge glass wall which partitioned off a sewing area right in the store. The owner of the shop was able to produce all of her garments while there was no one shopping in the store, and customers could actually see that everything was hand made. This would keep her overhead lower, because she would not have to hire a clerk to sell garments while she was sewing because she could clearly see through the window (and a buzzer) that there was a customer in the store who required attention. You could even go so far as to create a small play area to entertain your children, and customers children while you work or they shop. Good luck in your ventures, your talent will take you far.

      tmorris1,

Thank you for your vote, and wow what a wonderful idea that was. I've been thinking if I have my own storefront, I will probably also have a sewing room in the back, but never thought of putting a glass wall so everybody can see. That is genius! I love that. I will keep that in mind. And I love the play area idea, I love shopping and can never find a store, even a children's clothing store that has a play area.

Thanks again for the input, that was wonderful and really helpful :)

    And to everybody,

Thank you for your votes and complements. I really appreciate it. Even if I don't get the scholarship, I will really work hard to study about fashion merchandising on my own.

I am a self-taught designer and sewer, I love to read to educate my self. There are tons of great books about fashion merchandising out there, so not being accepted in this scholarship won't discourage me at all :)

And all the wonderful ladies over here, thank you so much for all your help. I really learn a lot about sewing from all of you too :).

Thank you so much once again :)

I couldn't even imagine that you would not win with such cute creations. If you are looking for financing, I don't know where you live, but you may want to try researching local "womens entrepreneurial societies" many of these groups have access to government funding (even grants) which you may be eligible for as well.

Oh well ladies, I did not make it :). I still want to thank you for all your support and votes. You guys are the best.

I am now running an online board called "Haute Couture For Kids" on ebay. It is basically just an online place for designers, models, buyers, or whoever interested in children couture and boutique world.

We have designing and modeling contest, special thread for special children with autism, down syndrome, etc. I have so much fun running this board.

We also have interviews with big designers. This week we will interview Mr. Claude Diwan, the owner of Deux Par Deux, it is a high end children clothing. And next week we will interview Daniel Vosovic from Bravo TV "Project Runway".

Here's the front page of my board if you guys want to check it out:

Thank you so much once again for all your help, I really really appreciate it :).

Are You the person who posted all those darling little girls' outfits with the twin models that we voted on our favorites?

      1. georgegabriellecouture | | #15

Yes, but my models weren't twin :). I wish I had twin girls, it would be so fun to dress them up with cute dresses :).

I love your work!  Enjoy life and keep us in the loop of what you are working on!   Your work is beautiful and excellent!  For now, something else is taking priority in your life path.  If you are meant to get the scholarship, it will happen one day.  Best wishes!

        Hi there Ning,

so sorry you missed out, their loss. Will you try again?

      regards,

       wombat

      1. georgegabriellecouture | | #16

Maybe one day I'll try again. But for now, I am just having so much fun running my online board. Maybe when my kids get a little bit bigger and I can have a little time for myself, I will try to apply for the scholarship. Meanwhile, I will just have to do my usual thing, buy tons of books about it and learn from there :).

Thanks again guys, you really rocks :)
