Zip

tricone | Posted in Fitting on

I have a great coat, and the zip on it keeps opening when i try and close it, It opens from the bottom up.
Do you know how i can fix this problem , the zip is about 30 inches long so i really dont want to have to replace it.

thanks in advance

happy sewing all. xxxx

If the zipper pull is broken in someway, you can replace that, but I don't know if you can fix the actual zipper if it is broken.

Do a very careful inspection of the bottom of the zipper; are there any damaged teeth or flattened coils? In this case replace it.

Does the very bottom edge hook together firmly?  If you do not get the very first teeth engaged properly then the whole thing comes apart!

Did the zipper work correctly in the past or has it always had trouble?

    Hope this helps,

    Becky
