Hi! I am replacing a zipper in ladies dress pants that are lined. I have not done this before(lined) any suggestions?

Start by getting the lining out of the way...I assume it is stitched to the zipper tape. Now remove the zipper, one side at a time. If you don't want to open up the waistband carefully cut off the zipper at the waistband. Attach the new zipper with pins, then hand baste, then machine baste, then close the zipper to make sure you have the placement exact. Then machine stitch. Then reattach the lining to the zipper tape using a hand running stitch.
Thank-you, that helped.
