I’m making the cosmetic bags in the Nov Threads and am having a terrible time with the zippers. They don’t want to reattach to each other. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Check the ongoing discussion under Threads #116 - Quick to Make. You're not alone....many have had problems with this.
It might help to take apart another similar zipper that you can play with without the confines of the fabric sewn on. I have done this many times and it is sometimes easy and sometimes it just cannot be done. And you really need three hands - I usually just use my teeth! to hold one edge. The lousy part is that if you actually get it to go back together it may not be lined up perfectly ever again. Sue
