Yes, I’ve used zippers by the yard and I definitely recommend them — especially for double slide zipper bags! They give you a lot of flexibility with length, and you can install two sliders facing each other easily. I usually buy nylon coil zippers by the yard and add the pulls myself — it takes a bit of practice the first time, but it's very doable.
Just make sure to get good quality zipper tape and sliders that match in size (like #5 with #5 pulls). Once you get the hang of it, it’s super convenient and more economical than buying pre-cut zippers in multiple lengths.
