The editors of Threads magazine have picked ten finalists, and now it is your turn to help choose the winner. By voting in the sweepstakes you will be entered to win a Threads prize package worth over $100.
We asked the community here at ThreadsMagazine.com to create the ultimate party ensemble with three or more pieces, including an accessory. Take a look through the finalists, and you will find everything from a tailored men’s coat to a bridal gown. The range of handmade accessories included bags, hats, and even a coordinating dog outfit. It was very difficult to choose just ten finalists, but now you have the even harder job of narrowing the list down to just one winner. The grand prize winner of the challenge, chosen from the ten finalists, will receive a BERNINA 330 sewing machine and tote.

I"m familiar with the Hoffman challenge using specific materials revealed in a timely manner to give all the contestants the same time to come up with various dolls, quilts, clothes etc.
I was under the impression a "party ensemble" was geared towards a created evening look. I would of entered my wedding dress if I thought it was what you were asking for. All the work is beautiful but the contest seems confusing. I'm sure a lot of people put work into this for the contest vs pulling out their best work they likely had a yr. to work on.
It would be nice to see this challenge in the future give more specific criteria as in certain color requirements, styles, patterned or nonpatterned, for an adult or child or inspired by a specific concept as nature, a holiday or event.
This would inspire contestants to make something specific for the contest that is a challenge for them and also create more of a level playing field so everyone can be excited to be creatively involved no matter what their sewing level is at.
When will the winner be announced?
I believe the rules said the winner would be announced on Dec. 1--so is there a problem? We are dying to know the winner!
