Halloween Costume Contest 2013

Vintage Sewing Pattern

Happy Halloween Threads!

I’m a sewing pattern, McCall’s 6351 from 1962 version A. I made the dress from the pattern in a polka dot wool crepe. The pattern envelope structure is made from lightweight plastic pipe made into a 4×5 rectangle. I used some cotton and copied the envelope front and back with sharpie. Then I sewed on some webbing to the front to make straps, and sewed it up like a pillowcase. The bottom is tied like a duvet. I teased my hair in a 1962 hairspray fashion. I have a great halloween costume and a new dress for fall!

Why should I win? Because Threads is for people that love to sew, I love it so much I became the ultimate sewing tool, the pattern itself!
