Machine Embroidery Challenge 2015

Lace and Roses

ivory cotton lace sheath dress is backed with cotton tulle. The embroidery design is from Anita Gooddesign Roses. Several motifs were embroidered on black wool crepe in multiple hoopings. The embroidered designs were trimmed and appliqués onto the dress using free motion zip-zag stitching. The hem of the dress and one sleeve were embellished with additional lace motifs from John Deere’s Freestanding Lace Collection. The lace was embroidered on heavy solvy using 50 weight cotton thread. Black silk crepe de chine serves as lining and also adds contrast to highlight the lace pattern.
