I finished the seams by binding them together in Hong Kong manner using bisque-colored silk habotai. The collar is bound on in similar fashion.
Versus using an extension fold on the left front (per the original pattern), I wrapped that edge as for a Hong Kong seam finish (shown before I stitched the hook eyes in place).
This is a blouse I created using cotton bobbinet from an original 1935 vintage Vogue pattern.
The blouse is fitted with a series of horizontal pin tucks in groups across the front and back and vertical tucks on the collar and sleeves.
I am fascinated by this embellishment created using self-fabric! There is also embellishment in the jabot-like right front of the blouse in which ‘frills’ are created where the ease is released by terminating the horizontal tucks in the right side of the front at the center.
