This is similar to a jacket that was featured in a magazine in 2001. I loved it and wanted one like it so using a jacket I had that fit, I made a pattern. It took five layers of 100% cotton fabric to make this jacket. Sewing together the basic pieces, fronts, back and sleeves, leaving many of the edges raw to give it the look I wanted, I then stitched in key areas a grid of 1 inch squares and then slashed an “x” in each square. then I threw it in the washer and dryer to bloom all the areas that were slashed. I had added iron on graphics and unfortunately some came undone in the wash and had to be redone after the wash/dry process. This was a very time consuming project but it is a really fun jacket.
