The Counterpoints Jacket–collaged. I repurposed 4 of my mother’s wool sweaters, felted them and using my Gail Patrice Design Counterpoints Jacket pattern and Collage It! Template Set 1, created a treasured heirloom. All seams were butted using a 3-step zigzag stitch and the vintage buttons are from a collection purchased at a Glastonbury Historical Society auction. The on-seam linen side pockets were inserted using a “wraparound” technique. The same technique created the buttonhole. The 2 lower buttons close with elastic loops embellished with a narrow 3-thred serger stitch. The jacket is lined with Bemberg rayon and bias bound with linen.

Fascinating! I like the two sizes of buttons, which element is echoed in the random repeating circle in the body of the repurposed fabric. Very nice!
