Summer Sewing Challenge - Express Yourself in Linen

Village Frock

I love this garment for my little one because everything is made out of the linen–including the sleeve & neck bindings, the button loops, and the buttons.  With so much detail in the design from the gathering to the side row of buttons, I like the monochromatic scheme.  A village frock for my little village girl.

    Love the button details!

Reminds me of the Ashland, OR's Shakespeare Festival outfits. Ashland is known the world over for the festival each summer.

I love the color of the fabric. You could go anywhere with is classic design and has held the test of time; dates to circa. 1564 to 1623 or so. Thank you bring it back into style.

She is really beautiful......and so is the dress. I love the colour and the details, even to the hair elastics.

This is really adorable -- and so is your little redhead girl.

Anyone know of an adult sized pattern like this? I would love a jacket with the same details!

RoseV, Simplicity 3627, though not exact, has a similar style in a jacket. Pleating the ends of the sleeves as well would give it even more of a similar feel to this dress, and you could do covered buttons as well as increase the number of buttons. Simplicity 2760 would also be cute.

Sewapropos, Thanks for finding/suggesting Simplicity 2760 as an adult version of this! Super cute. I am going to make view A.

Cute model! I would love one in my size. Very professionally done!

I love the colour and the design on the neck but what are those sleeves all about ! Personally I feel they ruin an otherwise beautiful look on a very pretty young girl.

This is so beautiful - you have done a great job. I have tried to buy this pattern with no luck. If you have finished with it and no longer want to hold on to it, I would love to purchase it from you. I live in Australia and there is nothing like this here. I love to sew and this would look gorgeous on my little girl.
