The base of this tunic is a lightweight linen. The yellow linen trim is lined so that the color maintains it’s vibrant “pop”. The lace tape is used more in Belgian lace than in the flat as a trim. The pattern is heavily adapted from a Simplicity pattern.
This tunic was adapted from a Simplicity pattern, here are the changes I made to it.
1) cut the long sleeve adding 2 1/2″ to hem for slightly flared long sleeve.
2) cut along the tuck line for length.
3) opened slit at center front neckline aprox 1″
4) Increased existing side seam bust dart by 1/2″
5) Flattened sleeve cap from front shoulder seam 1/4″
6) Flattened sleeve cap from back shoulder seam 1/2 – 3/4″
7) Added handsewn trim
8) Added self drafted stand up collar
9) dropped the neckline 1/2″ at center front
10) Added side slits
Nice, especially because it is linen!!!
