Classic safari-style suit with an updated twist-metallic pinstripes: fabric of 96% linen 2% lycra 2% mylar. Modifications to pattern: added center back vent and tailored short sleeve with roll cuff and button tab detail that repeats the front and back button tab belt loops. Each section of fashion fabric was backed with light weight fusible weft interfacing to give body to the finished garment. The roll line was constructed using fusible tape (technique from Threads #142 “Tape to Shape”) Using fusible tape and interfacing is a dramatic departure from my usual tailoring techniques, which are far more time and labor intensive.
