My Voodoo Doll costume, with me, as the model.
I went to this Halloween event with my friend, who was a Voodoo Priest.
The costume was handmade with no commercial pattern. I made the patchwork dress and armwarmers by creating my own patchwork material. I cut up odd pieces of 8 different fabrics and sewed them back together to make one sheet of fabric. I reinforced the seams with yarn, adding to the handmade look.
My wig was also made by hand, out of yarn, attached to hair ties. I even “sewed” up my skin and my lips shut with yarn glued to my face with Spirit Gum.

Love this! I am headed to a Pirate of Caribbean Halloween Bash this weekend and I am going as Calypso Voodoo Priestest.
Would love to have incorporated the stitches as part of my costume. What a great Phot.
