I used a stretchy orange fabric with a ‘holographic’ butterfly pattern for the dress and lined it with black organdy. An half overskirt was also constructed of black organdy, and an underskirt of purple net. Instead of using a zipper or buttons, I used velcro to close up the back so that the dress could be easily gotten on and off. On each triangular point of the underskirt I glued a sequin. The ribbons that gathered the sleeves were bendable, with a very thin wire running through them lengthwise.
