I’ve been designing handbags and purses lately and I love this particular handbag design. The top opening is assymetrical, and the black, white and gold spotted fabric prints make it striking. Once it was done though it really needed a burst of color to brighten it up a little, and what better way to add color than in the form of a bright red flower embellishment.
I had fun making the fabric flower and used various techniques including fabric painting, embellishing with my fringe foot, and a hot air treatment to curl the edges of the petals.
If you love making embellishments, you’ll find a video tutorial for the fabric flower embellishment on my blog: http://www.linda-matthews.com/tutorial-fabric-flower-embellishment/
Happy Embellishing!

What a difference an embellishment can make. It is lovely.
I am sure you will enjoy showing it off.
