Years ago I learned how to do the crazy quilts from a class at my local sewing store. Over the years I have made stockings for all my children, their spouses, and then grandchildren as they came along. This year my daughter asked for a tree skirt to match. I used a pre-made skirt as a base and added a ring of the crazy quilt around it. During construction I used several christmas embroidery motifs. Instead of using hand stitching I used all types of gold cord and braid between each patch of color. We fringed the entire skirt with 4 inch braided fringe. She and her husband have stockings to coordinate and I am working on a buffet scarf. I have also posted a stocking I did last year here in the gallery.
