Corset- Cotton corset with sew in boning, grommet detailing and pleated cups. The grommets are placed on the center front, top and center back edges. All of the grommets are being used for fit which means the ribbon is laced from front to back. The boning is sewn into all the vertical seams and in the cups to hold the form of the body like a traditional corset. The cups of this corset are pleated, this is done by cutting strips of fabric on the bias, ironing them in half and then sewing them onto the cup on the bottom, open edge. You have to gently curve the strips as you sew htem so that they allow the cup to still have shape instead of lying flat. This corset was drafted by starting with a basic corset block that is then drafted into this corset using style lines, prototypes and fitting techniques.

Pants- The well fit pants are made from a woven stretchy, cotton/rayon blend fabric. The fabric has fine gold pin striping. They have a waist band, pockets and a yoke in the back to help with fit. They have slash pockets in the front and patch pockets with a gold, draped chiffon sewn onto them. They also have a fly zipper in the front with a traditional button closure above it on the waistband.

Accessories: Head Piece: The head piece is made with a white netting, gold chiffon and button. These fabrics are hand sewn onto a hair clip.

Gold Scarf- The gold scarf is constructed from a basic rectangle of spandex material. The material was folded in half, stitched on all the edges, except about two inches, and then turned inside out (using the two inches of open seam which is then hand stitched closed). The scarf is then draped on the person as per their own individual style.

This outfit is special because it has unusual design features that make it edgy. These include the pleated cups, all around grommets and draped patch pockets. These clothes are also very well fit, and the corset can be fit to any smaller body type providing a ‘hot’ silhouette for the woman who is trying to look her best and be the centre of attention at her next party.
