Multicolored Patchwork Tote

Front or back of tote

I’ve always been looking for ways to use all the leftover fabric from other projects. No matter what size of the fabric pieces are, something can be made. I started with the foundation fabric which I cut from a McCall’s pattern M4402(out of print). Then sewing the random, odd shaped pieces over the foundation fabric. The fabrics I used were satins, crushed velvet, woven fabrics some solid and printed and t-shirt material. Once the the picecs were covered, I embellished with silver metallic thread in a zig zag stitch, use embroidery floss with silver metallic thread, silver sequins and beads. For the sides of the tote I used ribbons to make flowers, clovers and loops. Also more beads and embroidery floss. For the trim around the side edges gold satin was used. Even the inside of the tote is done in patchwork as well.
