In designer clothes, I keep seeing black and white together and extreme color blocking that highlights the figure. This is my very subtle take on these two ideas.
My two piece suit is made from white fabric with black pinstripes. I chose Simplicity #4599 view E for the jacket. I made the long sleeves into 3/4 length sleeves. I added top stitching to outline the interesting and figure flattering seams of both pieces. For a more substantial look I used my sewing machine’s blanket stitch for the top stitching.
For the skirt, I used Simplicity #9825 view C. This skirt pattern has a yoke, to which I added a cute pocket flap detail.
I made full linings for both garments out of a beautiful, very light gray, floral jacquard. This gives them a nice weight and a rich look. Putting this ensemble on makes me feel chic and classic at the same time.
