This is my homemade salad costume of my own design, inspired by my love of eating vegetables! The materials I used are felt, embroidery thread, cardboard from a cereal box, and a trusty glue gun. The skirt was created by sewing and gluing together 35 individual felt lettuce leaves, with each piece of lettuce hand stitched to give the appearance of the veins of the leaf. The skirt and top were accessorized with felt tomato slices (with cardboard seeds) and shredded carrot. The fork in my hair was my whimsical touch (but isn’t very visible in this photo).
